March 20, 2012: Counterfeit Dueck Defense RTS Sights
Dueck Defense Friends have spotted RTS knock-offs online
A few weeks back we received a couple of emails with links to online stores selling counterfeit Dueck Defense RTS sights. We have see two flavors so far: An exact copy with identical packaging and printing on the sights themselves, and copies without the Dueck Defense logo. Some of these are selling for under $30.00 a pair so we can only assume that the quality of construction is a joke. Please be wary that these are out there and make sure to only purchase genuine Dueck Defense products here on our website or through one of our authorized dealers.
Our friends at Soldier Sytems just put up a nice blog piece about this very issue. "Caveat Emptor – Counterfeit Dueck Defense RTS Sights Be aware, there are currently a number of counterfeit Dueck Defense RTS Sights currently being sold on eBay, apparently being marketed at the MilSim community (no, not interested in an all-encompassing "Airsofters are evil" diatribe). We first mentioned the Dueck RTS in Dec of 2010. Effectively, they can work as backup sights or as dedicated transition sights for close in targets when your carbine is equipped with a scope. In fact, the RTS replicates the M16-style front and rear sight system many are used to from their time training with issue weapons just mounted on a 45 deg offset..". (See the blog article HERE)

June 17, 2011: Barry Dueck Wins at the MGM Ironman in Parma, ID
Barry is the 2011 Iron Man Heavy Optics Champion! He says it was a race to the end with Dave Neth and Mark Hanish from team FN fighting hard to the last shot.
"The weather at the Iron man went from sun to rain to high wind conditions kicking up the “Parma Powder” -fine powder-like dust the Iron Man is infamous for, along with is long days. I used the RTS sights a lot at this match. On stage 7, a running man target closed on you fast as you opened a door and then disappeared a couple seconds later. As I came through the door the RTS sights made it easy to put two rounds center mass and allowed me to immediately transition to my optic for some tighter shots that I wanted magnification for."
"After winning Heavy Optics I shot the tactical optics. Back to back Iron Man matches, wow, that was really tough, but I'm glad for the experience."
After transitioning gear, Barry was still able to pull off a 7th place finish. The win earned him a slot in the 3-Gun nation shootoff. Barry made it to the semi finals beating 3 gun legend Bennie Cooley in the first round and then loosing the next round of elimination to Daniel Horner.
After this win, 3-Gun Nation lists Barry at #1 on there overall Scores for 2011 link here
June 5, 2011: Barry Dueck Competes in the MGM Ironman in Parma, ID
Barry Dueck is competing against top shooting pros at the 2011 MGM Ironman in Idaho. The competition organizers go out of their way to make their shooting stages unique and challenging. Barry took first place in the Heavy Metal division last year and is hoping to repeat that performance again. Below is the an excerpt from the 3-Gun Nation website about this years competition.
"From giant slides, to zip lines, to funky firing positions, to round after round after round of ammunition fired, MGM's Ironman is a multi-gun competition unlike any other on earth. Win it, and most veteran competitors will consider you one of the toughest 3-gunners around. But to do so, you must fire well over 1,000 rounds of ammunition from every type of conceivable firing position: elevated, moving, crouching and more. You will shoot at sniper distances until your eyes grow weary, rip through CQB-type stages at a break-neck pace and pound away with shotgun slugs at extreme range until your shoulder aches. Do all of this without breaking you or your gear, and you just might just survive the MGM Ironman.".. read the entire article here
May 19, 2011: 1st Place Sabre Defence Blue Ridge Mountain 3G
Barry Dueck wins again. Barry’s use of the Rapid Transition Sight are constantly evolving.
Designed originally as a fast close-range sighting system the last two major 3-Gun matches have revealed new options.
"At the LaRue 3 Gun I used a new tactic that helped me win heavy optics. I used the RTS’s for all targets out to 50 yards. This allowed me to set the optimum power for the 100 yard plus targets on my 1-4 optic which was never below 2.5x for the entire match.
I am now searching for the best 2x-10+x scope for use in future matches. This added magnification which would allow faster more accurate engagement on the long distance targets."
Blue Ridge 3 Gun – "This was my first no optic heavy metal match. Shooting heavy metal allowed for one non-magnified optic. I set my LMT 308 up with an aimpoint comp M4 red dot and the Rapid Transition Sight. I zeroed both the aimpoint and the Rapid Transition Sight at 200 yards. This also gave me a 45 yards zero. I determined that I shot tighter groups with the Rapid Transition Sight than with the dot so I used the RTS on all 100 yard+ target and used the aimpoint for the close targets.
It worked and I won the Match! Never stop learning." Barry Dueck

September 26, 2010: Barry Dueck Wins the Heavy Opticts Division at the 3 Gun match in Lake of the Ozarks, MO
Barry Dueck won the Ozark 3-gun match in September shooting in Heavy Optics division. The RTS sights were key in this match as the stages offered close and far targets with no time to adjust a traditional sight setup. The Ozark 3-gun has stages with rifle targets anywhere from a few yards out up to 480 yards. Barry Comments on the match, “You know when you hit a steel flasher with a 308 but need to call the close shots quickly as you hammer doubles on the close paper. What you remember from your sight picture when the shot breaks is all the info you have. I felt real solid transitioning from close to long range” Dueck said,” The pistol had stage after stage with knock over steel, so the 45 was an advantage close in, knocking the plates off with heavy bullets.” Overall it was just a fun match in a beautiful part of America.

Designed by top 3-gun shooter and IPSC Grand Master Barry Dueck, this gun sight system provides the shooter with the quickest transition possible from optical to iron sights.
“I realized that when shooting close targets on the move I was more effective with standard M4/M16 iron sights than when using anything else. Being that I still performed better at longer ranges with an optical sight, I came up with a sight design that allowed for both. It also solved the problem of trying to co-witness sights because you now have two independent sighting systems that are always ready.” ~ Barry Dueck
